On September 21, 2024, the Belov Group carried out a beach cleaning action as part of World Cleanup Day, involving its units in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The global event dedicated to waste reduction was created by the NGO Let's Do It World and takes place in nearly 200 countries.
Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and the preservation of marine ecosystems, our employees gathered in Magé, at the Píer da Piedade. The activity went beyond waste collection, demonstrating the vital role that companies can play in the fight against marine pollution. The Belov Group focused the action on the removal of plastics and other pollutants that threaten marine life and the quality of the oceans, concentrating efforts on the banks of Guanabara Bay.
Ocean pollution is one of the most urgent environmental crises, compromising marine biodiversity and human health. Initiatives like these demonstrate that, with coordinated actions, we can mitigate this impact. During 20 minutes of collection, 424.29 kg of waste were collected, reinforcing the power of collective action.
The event was transformed into a healthy competition between teams, which increased the engagement and motivation of the participants. The winning group was awarded symbolic gifts, but all those involved participated in a raffle of prizes. The activity also included the participation of the 143rd Sea Scout Group of Guapimirim, a meditation and mental hygiene session, a special breakfast and a special shirt for the event.
