World Clean Up Day in All Saints Bay schedule was launched this Thursday (12) at the Museu do Mar, in Santo Antônio Além do Carmo, to promote environmental education in the capital and countryside. The Aleixo Belov Foundation is one of the participating entities of the World Clean Up Day – Baía de Todos-os-Santos action, with the Museu do Mar as one of the venues that will host the action's lectures. The event was hosted by presenter Patrícia Abreu. The agenda involves the participation of public school students and local communities in September and October.
The World Clean Up Day is considered one of the largest civic movements of today, having gathered approximately 60 million people in more than 190 countries, in favor of a cleaner and more sustainable planet. In Bahia, institutions with activities linked to All Saints Bay, the largest navigable tropical bay in the world and dubbed the Capital of the Blue Amazon, have joined forces to contribute to this important international calendar.
In addition to the Museu do Mar, the lectures will take place at the headquarters of the Yatch Clube da Bahia and at the Companhia de Docas do Estado da Bahia (CODEBA) for public school students, port professionals and civil society. The initiative will also promote clean-up actions on beaches in Salvador and inland, at Enseada do Paraguaçu (Maragojipe), Malhado (Ilhéus) and Capadócia (Simões Filho).
The Clean Up Day is supported by the Brazilian Navy, Fundação Baía Viva, Fundação Aleixo Belov, IBRADES and I4SEA.
